We have finally been putting in some good hours at our house in Lewistown. It is a relief to finally move from demolition to reconstruction. I tell ya, almost every square inch of that house was covered in wallpaper. Even the bathroom ceiling, which apparently was where all the smell was coming from, so it's finally nice to have that gone! I hate wallpaper. I think it came with the house when it was built in the 1940's. We were tearing down wall paper on this one wall in the livingroom, and discovered paneling behind it. So we tore down the paneling to discover more wallpaper! It was papered directly to the plaster. Oh yeah, the whole house is lath and plaster. Not fun stuff!! We decided to do a couple of accent walls, namely because the plaster walls are in pretty tough shape, and on one of the walls, the wallpaper will NOT come off, so I decided to do a mud texture. I think it's going to turn out pretty neat. I'll post other pictures when we get it painted, and also other progress we make. So we are finally moving in the right direction after almost 1 1/2 years!
